"let me tell you about someone I know" | Christmas Poetry Collection: Poem 9
someone I know,
His name is Jesus
a child of a carpenter
a boy from Nazareth,
born in a manger
He creates the peaceful night in
the lion's den
the brightest light in the
darkest of nights
He is the fourth man in the raging fire
see Daniel 3:24 to 25
He is the Son of God
a boy of humble beginnings
with a purpose so extraordinary
a King was born,
born to save the world
by crucifixion on a cross
a thorned crown on his head
for our sake, a perfect man has bled
nails in His hands and feet
so that we can be free from the
shame and guilt and sin this world brings
He isn’t like any other King
healed the deaf with only spoken words
healed the blind with saliva and dirt
and He still does, many years later
because that is who Jesus is, a savior
He saves souls and people in graves
and those who are empty and lost
His nail scarred hands pull us
out of raging waves,
for all of us, He has paid the cost
it has made me wonder
how a King could die in our place
give His righteous life for us
the epitome of love and grace
i can try to describe how
holy and perfect He is,
i can write so many poems
about His love
but to explain how wonderful Jesus is
— no amount of words will
ever be enough
so here was a poem to tell you
about someone I know
and around this time,
more than two thousand years ago
the Prince of Peace and
Mighty Counsellor was born
not only is He the Son of God
and the King of Kings, but also
a child of a carpenter
a boy from Nazareth,
born in a manger
merry christmas and
happy birthday,
my Lord and Savior
the biggest gift to the world
and for so many reasons
my best friend,
Jesus
about the poem
Jesus, the Son of God and the most perfect man, died in our place on that rugged cross and it is only through His grace that I can say I am saved. He has given us the gift of salvation, and I will forever praise Him for what He has done for us. Thank you, Jesus! ππ»
