Lunch Time

So, about a year ago my mom broke her knee. She had surgery and had to stay in bed for 1-3 months. It was a time where my brother and I learned lots of discipline. We had to do everything like, do the washing, clean the kitchen, clean the house and make supper. We've started doing homeschooling a few months before her knee broke, so luckily we already knew how to do all of those things.
In school we didn't have time to help my mom with the house because we were either busy with homework or studying for an up coming test.
When her knee broke we could help my mom more often, because if we were in school it would have been much more difficult. Since she couldn't walk around the house too much we made lunch for her everyday after schoolwork or in between break.
My dad also helped out a lot, by grilling lamb chops or steak or patties for burgers, I must say we ate some delicious food. I always ate with my mom in bed while my brother and my dad sat in the living room. Now you know that my mom broke her knee, but the reason I made this post is because I want to share with you the food we made for her.
So here we made her a bowl of noodles, with a fresh salad.
Noodles
- Take a packet of 2-minute noodles.
- Put it in a bowl, sprinkle the seasoning that comes with the packet, boil some water and pour it over the noodles till it's covered (not completely).
- Then put it in the microwave for 3-4 minutes.
With the salad there's not much to do, just cut lettuce, cucumber and tomato, then mix. Then crumble Feta cheese over salad. And there you have it.
I also know how to make a delicious chicken and noodle dish with the same type of noodles (2-minute noodles). So, comment down below if you want the recipe.
Sometimes we liked to surprise her with a little something extra like a rice salad. We always asked her what she wants for lunch and she told us what she wanted then we made it for her. Here we made a boiled egg with some toast and a suprise rice salad.
Boiled Egg
- Turn stove to the highest heat.
- Fill small pot with tap water and put on stove.
- Put egg(s) in pot right from the start.
- Boil egg(s) for about 7 minutes for perfect result.
Rice Salad
- Make a sauce out of Chutney, Mayonnaise, Sweet Chilli sauce and a small amount of tomato sauce.
- Next mix white rice with sauce.
- Then cut up tomato and cucumber and mix.
- After that you just toast some bread and spread butter on it.
