My homeschool problems and perks!
Hi readers!
Today I wanted to do another post about homeschooling! There are so many things about homeschooling that are good and others not so good, haha, so I thought how about I share my homeschool problems and perks! I must say, there are more perks than problems for me but there are a few things that did change since I left school.
my homeschool probs and perks!
p e r k s
I'm going to start with my perks of homeschooling!
i have much less stress
I don't have the stress that I had in school. In school I had to do schoolwork, do sports after school, come home and do homework and when it was exam time, I had to study for a test. I would finish school around 14:00 but then I had sport for about an hour and half so I would only get home around 15:30 and then I had homework as well. That put a lot of stress on me.
Now, my mood is so much better and I can't wait to start the day! I workout before school, so I don't have the stress of sports and I finish school around 12:30 - 13:00.
i get to wear my own clothes, and hairstyles
Since 1st grade up to 5th grade I had to wear a uniform - a dress, with school shoes and socks plus a super hot blazer. And every Summer I would have to wear short socks and in Winter I would wear stockings or long socks instead of short ones.
Not anymore! Because now I can do schoolwork in my pajamas! Not going to lie, there were quite few times where I wore my pjs. I can also do my hair the way I want to and not follow the school's rules!
i can make my own lunch
I make my lunch after school almost everyday and I really enjoy doing it. I can pick and choose what to make and when I want to make it. Although, I do miss those delicious pies and fries at the tuck shop in my old school, they were delicious!
Some days I'm not hungry then I don't make lunch but other days, when I'm really hungry, I eat probably 2 lunches, haha, and snacks during the day.
i can work wherever i want
Sometimes I get a bit tired and unmotivated to work at my desk, so then I like to move to our dining table, or my parents' desk and then I work and focus better, so that's definitely a perk for me since in school you would just sit at the same desk everyday.
i can choose how much work I want to do:
Some days I'm tired and other days I'm in the mood to do a lot of work, and with homeschooling I can choose how much I want to get done. And on those days I don't do a lot of work, I try to do a little bit extra the next day to catch up a bit.
i get to go on holiday when others don't
Last year May we went on holiday and decided to visit my family. We drove past these huge, beautiful hills on our way there. |
My parents likes to give us off when everyone is still at school or at work so it isn't as busy if we decide to travel and visit my family.
i'm more independent
I used to be sooooo lazy in school. The only thing I knew how to do was make my bed and pack a dishwasher, haha, but homeschooling has given me more time to do some chores and really learn to be more independent, especially when my mom broke her knee.

Next is my homeschool probs
repair people
When something broke in our house and a plumber or electrician had to come and fix it we were usually at school. But now, when people come to fix something I sit by my desk being really awkward, haha. I'm super shy and greeting people, like, just saying, "Hello" makes me sweat.
Honestly, I've actually gotten a lot better in greeting people and talking to them, but before I just told myself, 'Girl, you better greet them this time, you better,' and then I didn't, I just kind of dodged them, haha.
i am more anti-social
A lot of people think about the socializing part of homeschooling and yes, I do talk with my friends and call them sometimes but I am definitely more anti-social since I started homeschooling and that's okay with me. I do miss my friends a lot ! but I do keep in touch with them and speak with friends almost everyday! Honestly, when it comes to being social in homeschooling, it all depends on how much you want to socialize with people.
There has been a few times where my friends share pictures of themselves with friends, hanging out and having fun and, I'm not going to lie, it's made me sad that I'm not apart of it and it makes me miss my friends even more. But spending more time at home made me grow closer to my parents and brother! <3
I think that's it for my homeschool problems, haha. Honestly I can't think of any more, that's how amazing homeschool has been for me! I hope y'all enjoyed this post, and comment down below if you do homeschooling! Hope you have a fantastic week! Stay safe!
Bye xx
After reading your post about homeschooling I would prefer homeschooling instead of ordinary schooling
