My Relaxing Night Routine

Hi!

Welcome back to this week's post! Today I want to share my super calm night routine. I like to take this time to unwind after a busy day of doing schoolwork and to catch up on any journaling or episodes of my favorite TV shows!

my calming night routine

17:00 - Around this time my dad is already home from work and my family and I spend time together, chatting and eating dinner. We like to eat dinner pretty early during the week, especially during the winter when the weather grows colder and dusk comes a bit earlier.
After we eat, we make things to drink, like tea and coffee and everyone would do their own thing for the next hour. In this hour I like to catch up on any journaling, write a blog post or bullet journal for the month. Or I just binge-watch YouTube, lol, it depends on what tasks I want to complete.

18:00 - At six p.m. my family and I watch our Afrikaans soaps which appear on TV from Monday to Friday every evening. Some days the episodes are boring, other days they're pretty interesting and the rest of the days I'm on the couch half an hour earlier because I CAN NOT MISS A SINGLE SECOND OF THE EPISODE.
But all the TV shows are intriguing and I've lost count of how many years I've been following these Afrikaans soaps. I might also have another cup of Rooibos tea. ☕

18:30 or 19:00 - First I take a warm shower and change from denim shorts and a t-shirt to comfy pajama shorts and an oversized t-shirt. After my shower I like to brush my teeth, take my medication (chronic asthma pump + allergy tablet) and pamper my skin.
I've never been one for taking time to take care of my skin every day but I've learned to enjoy it because it leaves my skin feeling clean and well-cared for.
My skincare routine doesn't include many products, only necessary ones that work for my skin.
1. Dove's beauty creme bar
I wash my face with Dove's creme bar because I like how it creamy it becomes and it thoroughly cleans my face.
2. Apply Johnson's Face Care: oil control facial cream
I apply this product on my T-zone and chin which is the most oiliness part of my face during the day.

3. Apply coconut oil for pimples
This is my secret weapon. Every morning and night I apply coconut oil to any red bumps I may have and within a few days they're gone.
The coconut oil dries the pimple and eventually it comes off leaving a red dot which disappears after a while.

(Just a side note: none of these products are sponsored--I'm sharing them because they're part of my skincare routine, and they have amazing results).

For the rest of the night I watch Netflix or I'll read a good YA book I got from the library. I try to be in bed by 20:00 and switch my light off by 20:30 because I've been trying to get my sleep schedule back on track since I've waking up later than I'd like to in the morning, but if I do sleep in, I argue that it's freezing and there's no way I'll be leaving my warm, cozy bed.

And that's the current night routine I follow each night. I love my night routine because it's relaxing and I can unwind from a long day. I also like to take this time to take care of myself and my skin.

Thanks for reading today's post! I really enjoyed writing it and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I'd also like to apologize for not posting regularly, things have been all over the place for the past month because my family and I moved to a new house. Everyday there's something keeping me busy which makes time fly by so fast and before I realize it, a week has gone by.
Next week I'll be posting a short update on my life and after that I'll, hopefully, start posting more regularly until I get back to my weekly routine! xx
I hope you have a wonderful week! Stay safe!

Tell me in the comments: what is your favorite skincare product?

Bye xx
