Before It's Too Late

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to this week's post. Today I want to talk about something that we really only consider after something has happened, something that you may be grieving about. I want this to be a gentle reminder to do things before it's too late--before you regret not doing what you want.

do it, before it's too late...
I've been guilty of not reaching out to my family as frequently as I should. Time would fly by so fast and I would notice it's been five days since I sent a message. And I always think of how I must reach out more, because what if something happens? It sounds quite morbid, actually, now that I wrote it down (haha, oops) but it's true. You never know how much time you have left with your loved ones.
Sometimes when I try to convince my parents to do or give something, I joke and say, "What if the world ends tonight? Then, it won't matter anyway." It doesn't actually convince them, though.
But, I don't want to make today's blog post about something so sad. Apart from spending as much time as possible with loved ones, you should also do things you want, things that make you happy.
Wear that shirt you like but are afraid to show in public because of what other people may think of you. Eat that second serving of ice cream because ice cream is delicious. Sing if you love to express your emotions through songs and dance like nobody's watching.
Take a selfie and post it, because you look beautiful. Write a book or paint a masterpiece (no matter how bad you think it may look).
In the end, your happiness is all that matters and you should do everything you want before it's too late. Say what you are feeling, be honest. Before you regret not doing it.
Start a herb garden or get a dog. Smile at strangers and pay for someone's groceries if they're a few rand short. Buy yourself that perfume, the one that's expensive and stop thinking that the money can be used for something "better", you deserve a treat.
Cook and bake a thousand times or, if you're convinced you can't cook, order McDonald's (the cheeseburger is my favorite).
Work hard, don't stop dreaming of the life you want, and fight for what you believe is right. Don't doubt yourself, I trust you've got this. You are much stronger than you think.
Life is too short to worry about the reflection in the mirror, to worry about things that are out of your control. Live life by being thankful for what you have and having fun.
See the good in everything, make the food you love. Call a friend or reach out to a grandparent.
Take a day off when you need it, pamper yourself.
Look at how pretty you are! And how kind you are and what a wonderful personality you have. Redo your bedroom till you find your style, wear clothes that you make you feel good.
Cut any negativity from your life, you don't need it. Life is too short to deal with things that pull you down, spend time around people who build you up and make you laugh.
Fall in love a hundred times. Or live an independent lifestyle in which you flourish.
Do what makes you happy. Before it's too late.

"In the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take."
- Lewis Carroll

Bye xx
