"all year long" | Christmas Poetry Collection: Poem 8

Happy December, my friends
here’s a thought I had
let’s not keep these celebrations
for one month only
but all year long

let’s fill January with the
spirit of new beginnings
like the sun rising over the horizon
may February be filled with hope
that the year will treat you well
in March remember to
love your neighbor and yourself

let’s say one thing we're grateful for
every day in April
and look at the little things that
matter during May
in June let's celebrate how far we've
come as we reach the halfway mark
and may July remind you to have
grace with yourself for the
mistakes you've made

in August, let's alter new year's
resolutions that we didn't complete
without feeling guilty
during September look at the
memories you've already made
and may October show you that
forgiveness is important, not because
someone deserves it, but because your
heart deserves to have peace

in November be proud of who you are
and how you've grown
cheers to December, a month that
brings all of this together
and a reminder of your strength and
bravery with a peppermint hot chocolate
and christmas cookies on the side

Happy December, my friends
here’s a thought I had
let’s not keep these celebrations
for one month only
but all year long

 about the poem

Christmas can be a time of reflection, gratitude, love, reconciliation, forgiveness, and peace, and I wanted to write a poem that talks about how these things should be celebrated all year long, not just in December.

Happy Holidays x
